Candle Care
Your Brooke & Rose Co. candle is thoughtfully crafted to provide a clean, beautiful burn. Following these simple care tips will help you enjoy the best fragrance experience and extend the life of your candle.
Before You Burn
- Center the wick and trim it to ¼ inch before each burn.
- During the first burn, allow the wax to melt completely to the edges of the vessel to establish an even melt pool and help prevent tunneling.
- Burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time.
Burning Safety
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep away from children and pets.
- Place your candle on a heat-resistant surface and away from drafts, fans, curtains, and other flammable materials.
- Stop burning when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel.
Extinguishing Your Candle
For the cleanest extinguish, use a wick dipper:
- Gently dip the lit wick into the melted wax.
- Lift the wick back to the center of the candle.
- Allow the wick to cool and trim it before the next burn.
Using a wick dipper helps reduce smoke, soot, and wick mushrooming.
Frequently Asked Questions
My candle is tunneling. What should I do?
Allow the candle to burn long enough for the wax to melt completely to the edges of the vessel. This usually corrects minor tunneling over the next few burns.
My wick has a mushroom on it.
Allow the candle to cool completely, trim the wick to ¼ inch, and remove any loose carbon before relighting.
How long should I burn my candle?
For best results, burn your candle between 2–4 hours at a time.
